I manage a team of five supporting the University’s CAS single sign-on system, myFSU portal back end infrastructure, Automic automation system used for PeopleSoft processes, ITS custom application servers, and F5 Application Delivery Controller used for PeopleSoft and other enterprise systems. Lead FSU’s first implementation of a web application firewall (F5 ASM) for the University’s enterprise systems. Collaborated with other teams to establish FSU’s first enterprise disaster recovery plan in AWS. Coordinate with other teams to plan, facilitate, and roadmap projects together. Mentor team members through growth opportunities and challenges. Manage annual team budget for system support, product refreshes, and personnel training. Work with vendors to support existing infrastructure and conduct proof of concepts for new technology solutions. Architect system solutions for on-premise and the cloud.
Administered the University's F5 application delivery controller including software version upgrades, hardware migration, and SSL certificate management. Installed, configured, and supported of web and J2EE application servers on RHEL systems. Supported the University's single sign on (SSO) services using Central Authentication Service (CAS). Coordinated project management of SSL certificate upgrades for most of ITS web and application servers in 2017. Planned and implemented the upgrade of the University's Automic automation engine to incorporate new Zero Downtime Upgrade (ZDU) technology. Automic is used to automate many of the University's critical functions related to payroll, finances, and student loans. ZDU technology allows upgrades without service disruptions. Participate in root cause analysis discussions and meetings for major system disruptions. Provided interim leadership for the Middleware team during a management transition.
As a data analyst, I work with researchers to generate information from different sources of data. My responsibilities include designing and building databases, scrubbing data, and programming user interfaces for databases to effectively use and manage information. Having worked on several projects, I have been a member of several teams to achieve the data objectives. This role requires critical thinking and the ability to properly document the data so that I can more effectively meet the needs of researchers. I have been able to contribute to the following publications as a data analyst:
Assisted the Systems Coordinator with supporting the IT needs of the department. This includes providing help desk support for all workstations, staging and operating job fair registration systems, and documenting internal processes. We all worked as a team to meet the Career Center’s objectives towards helping students find careers.
My role was that of a systems analyst with the critical responsibility of managing the operations of the franchise point of sale (POS) computer systems in over 325 stores. Some of the technical skills required to accomplish this task include knowing about networking, databases, windows operating systems, and security. It also requires excellent team work skills and being able to communicate effectively with people under varying roles like franchisees, store employees, corporate staff, and vendors. This is a position that doesn't offer much room for mistakes and attention to detail is very important. I was able to design and implement the role out and operations of several iterations of POS systems. Some of the operations include but are not limited to help desk support, system maintenance, database updates, and sales information reporting.
